ABOUT Sara:

Sara Wilkie is an independent educational consultant who specializes in building the capacity of future-focused learning teams. She strives to foster an understanding of the connections and interplay between technology, pedagogy, and curriculum, and the process changes necessary to shift the focus from teaching to learning. Through hands-on, learning-centered and job-embedded experiences, Sara works side by side with K-12 students, teachers and administrators to re-examine deeply held beliefs and patterns of teaching and learning. Sara has extensive experience teaching in elementary and middle school, and facilitates domestic and international workshops centered on the development of innovative practices that support both national standards and local vision.

ABOUT Lainie:

Lainie Rowell is an independent professional developer and consultant. She works closely with classroom teachers, principals and district administrators guiding educators to find innovative ways to integrate technology to improve teaching and learning.

Prior to this, Lainie taught Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 6th grade. In 2002, she took on a role as a site-level professional developer which progressed to a position as a district-level K-12 educational technology coordinator supporting 22,000 students and 1,200 teachers at 33 schools.

Lainie is honored to be an Apple Distinguished EducatorGoogle Certified TeacherGoogle Apps for Education Certified Trainer and STAR Discovery Educator. She has also been recognized as Teacher of the Year and was featured in OC Family Magazine as one of 10 Teachers Making a Difference. In 2011, she was elected to Computer-Using Educators’ Board of Directors.
