In this conversation, Alan November and Bob Goodman, Director of the New Jersey Center for Teaching and Learning, discuss the inspiring work he is leading in the redesign of science curriculum. Through a logical reorganization of content, a rethinking of what good homework looks like and a robust teacher development program that has been initiated, students are graduating high school with an understanding of science at a depth that is truly remarkable.

  1. This is an exciting, enticing moment in the forming of our charter school. Your podcast has provided the opportunity for our school to implement our science program from inception with the constructivist, Socratic philosophy that is our vision. We will be contacting you and referring to your website as we progress. We do not actually exist and are submitting our application this spring. I will be playing your podcast at our founders’ meeting and discussing the implications for our school although at inception we will be a Kindergarten through fifth grade we will be adding a grade per year moving on toward high school.
